I'm moving...

And you're all invited to come with me!

I have been contemplating a move over to Word Press for a while. Blogger is fine, but long term I know that Word Press is probably a better platform. So, I finally pulled the trigger today and you can find me at my new home: http://conservativetna.wordpress.com/

You'll notice I had a name change as well. It fits better with where I think the blog is going, which is NOT toward heavily drunken Republican support. But that might be an entire blog in itself.

Rest assured, I'm still as inappropriate and conservative as ever. That is one thing not likely to change anytime soon. So, I hope you'll drop by the new place and check it out. I'll miss you terribly if you don't.

Hail to the Chief of empty rhetoric

Here's a snippet from Obama's speech to the UN:

"And I pledge that America will always stand with those who stand up for their dignity and their rights — for the student who seeks to learn; the voter who demands to be heard; the innocent who longs to be free; the oppressed who yearns to be equal."

Peter Kirsanow found this comment interesting given Obama's lack of response when Iranian dissidents were fighting for their voice to be heard after the elections there. He didn't stand up with them, did he?

And what about right here at home? What about the multitude of people who marched on the Capital? We demanded to be heard. We demanded a response from our president. We demanded that he stand up for what is right, and we were ignored.

It's because Obama doesn't care. He is only willing to stand with you if it furthers his own warped agenda.

Standing with the Iranians didn't fit into his plan and neither did even giving proper acknowledgement to the (at LEAST) hundreds of thousands of people who marched for their rights in the Capital.

Is this unexpected? No. Despicable? Yes.

Obama and Journalism and Integrity (Oh my)

In an interview with the Toledo Blade, (h/t Pat Dollard) Obama had this to say:

"Journalistic integrity, you know, fact-based reporting, serious investigative reporting, how to retain those ethics in all these different new media and how to make sure that it's paid for, is really a challenge."

"I am concerned that if the direction of the news is all blogosphere, all opinions, with no serious fact-checking, no serious attempts to put stories in context, that what you will end up getting is people shouting at each other across the void but not a lot of mutual understanding."

I'd say that before the president concerns himself with lack of journalistic integrity within the 'blogosphere' he should first focus on the lack of it within 'reputable' news outlets.

He should also be aware that there are a great number of blogs out there that aren't simply spewing opinions, although the ones that are primarily opinion-oriented certainly serve a purpose when done right.

If Obama wants to worry about something, he should concern himself with why the mainstream media appears to be losing (or in some cases, already has lost) the ability to report with integrity. Then maybe he would understand why people are flocking to other outlets for information.

Or, maybe he does get it, and this is just more empty rhetoric. Nah...it couldn't be that.

House votes to send Joe Wilson to his room without any supper

In all seriousness, what the hell Congress?

You don't have anything better to do than vote to condemn one of your members?

That's lame with a capital douche bag.

The resolution they voted on amounts to nothing more than a public scolding of Joe Wilson. And this is after he already called the White House to apologize for his outburst. Personally, I don't think he should apologize at all, ever. Frankly, it was about time someone called Barack Obama what he is.

The majority of republicans voted against the resolutions today, but 7 did not:

Rep. Anh Cao (LA)
Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (MO)
Rep. Jeff Flake (AZ)
Rep. Bob Inglis (SC)
Rep. Walter Jones (NC)
Rep. Thomas Petri (WI)
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (CA)

Obviously they've got their priorities straight.

Some belated tea party pictures

These are from Labor Day, when the Tea Party Express came to Mishawaka:

I didn't see the front of this sign, but it is still my favorite simply because of the pitchfork:

Oh yeah Robert Gibbs, you tell 'em

Here, watch Robert Gibbs' masterful appeal to the American Public to watch the president speak on the 'realities' of health care rather than reality TV:

(h/t Hotair)

I mean, it's not as if we haven't heard him speak about it before. This will only be his 2,589th speech since he took office.

Is it disrespectful to be disgusted by the sight of your president? Not because you hate him, but just because you're fucking sick of hearing him talk? Well, you can put me in that category.

Suck it Gibbs. I'm watching porn and doing shooters during the speech. I'll use my excellent health benefits when I go get my stomach pumped later on tonight.

The one in which I take a shot at beauty queens

I don't know how it happened, but I found myself reading The Huffington Post today.

Excuse me for a moment while I dry heave in the direction of my bathroom.

Ok, I think the nausea has subsided.

The article I stumbled upon was riveting, truly. Apparently, and don't be too shocked here, Donald Trump hand picks some of the prettiest girls in the pageant and they automatically sail through to the top 15.

I know. I KNOW!

I am dumbfounded.

It's...it's...like people think it's a beauty contest or something. With beauty being the main criteria, all the plain-looking contests don't even stand a chance. I'm sad for them.

Just sickening.
