BALTIMORE-there is new information about the sex abuse scandals at Penn State, and a new effort to try to keep something like that happening here.
"I think it's really a symbol of that, what's going on there–people see the abuse but did not report it-is something that happens everywhere," said Adam Rosenberg, Executive Director of the Center for child abuse in Baltimore.
The Center hosts town hall meeting Monday night, gathered experts in child sex abuse–prosecutors, police, educators and social workers.
Rosenberg said since the scandal broke, the Center has received calls from parents-looking for answers, ask what they should be looking to protect their children. He says the key is for anyone who suspects abuse, report it.
"Reports of abuse are just that. This is just a report. Professional team can then make a judgement on that and then figure out if something happens and how to get help, "he said.
